WEST YORKSHIRE
David graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in 3D Design in 1992. Since then has been a professional wildlife artist, sculpting many animal subjects but specializing in reptiles and birds.
From his studio, David creates a wide variety of wildlife sculptures in varying styles and media and his sculptures have life and character. His large sculptures are suitable for a life outdoors, and a he produces a wide range of small indoor pieces.
David’s sculptures are much in demand, with commissions including work for the Chelsea Flower Show and creating a dinosaur skull for the Great North Museum, Newcastle.
David works primarily in clay, some pieces are mixed media and some in Bronze or bronze resin.
David creates sculptures that are true to the anatomy of its subject but he also imbues his pieces with a character of their own. At the same time he avoids sentimental anthropomorphism. His pieces are an affirmation of the strength and beauty of these animals.
In 2017 David was awarded the Runner Up at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist Of The Year Awards. A most prestigious award
