Emma Molony

Emma Molony lives in Devon

Emma learned printmaking while living in Venice, at Stamperia Albrizzi and Stamperia del Tintoretto. After returning to Devon she continued her practice as a printmaker, with Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter, as director and outreach co-ordinator – taking a portable printmaking studio out to schools, prisons, hospitals and community centres.

Emma also makes screenprinted wallpaper and featured on Channel 4’s Kirsties’ Homemade Home series – teaching Kirstie Allsopp how to print her own wallpaper.

In 2010 Emma won the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award and led a printmaking residency with The Art Room charity in Oxford. She also undertook an installation commission for Kensington Palace Gardens in 2011. Her wallpaper, prints, set design and illustrations have been used at the RSC Theatre, Edinburgh Festival, TV productions and in Julian Sayarer’s 2017 award-winning travel book Interstate. She has exhibited twice at the Royal Academy Summer Show.

Emma’s work is inspired either by the East Devon landscape where she lives or by folklore and fairy tales – particularly those featuring wolves.
