Gerry Dudgeon 1952 - 2023
Gerry was born in Darjeeling. He studied German Art at Cambridge and Freiburg and progressed to a Master’s degree in art from Reading. He taught and lectured in art until becoming a full-time artist in the late 1990s.
He experimented freely with paint using his imagination to improvise. His works reflected the warmth, colour and bustle of places like India and Morocco. However, his studio deep in the flowing hills of West Dorset, inspired him to capture their enchantment and mood.
Gerry had numerous solo shows during his career, he had work at the RA summer exhibition and the South West Academy of Fine Arts and is widely collected internationally.
Gerry sadly passed away in September 2023 at age 71.
