CORNWALL
Jo is a native and resident of rural Cornwall. Over the years she, like many of us, has witnessed the erosion of the wonderful patterns, shapes and feel of the English countryside.
Urban encroachment, bigger fields, an absence of natural meadows and hedges and an inevitable reduction in wildlife variety are all parts of this story. In painting her landscapes, Jo is responding to these losses and making her personal stand in which she depicts these passing glories and makes her mark against uncaring change.
Her paintings are warm and full of life and comfort. They are the product of Jo’s memories, her imagination and actual locations although the viewer would be hard pressed to identify any precise setting!
Unsurprisingly, Jo’s work has attracted a strong and enthusiastic following. She like us is delighted to be represented at Marine House.
