Welcome to Between Trees and Tide, a solo exhibition by Mel Cormack-Hicks that celebrates woodlands and shifting shorelines.
This show is all about beautiful, calm spaces. Mel doesn’t paint what a landscape looks like; she manages to capture what it feels like to be there. Take a walk along the path in ‘Talk To Me’ or admire the splendour of the sea from the clifftops in ‘The Sky Opens, The Sea Sings’.
Her expressive brushwork in acrylic, rich in texture and colour, invites you to step beyond the edge of the canvas. Every layer of paint holds a distinct sense of presence and urges you to slow down, breathe and admire such natural wonders as depicted in ‘I Found You’
