DEVON
Peter is an established professional artist based in Devon and is a leading member of the Torbay Guild of Artists. He has exhibited across the South West and has won many accolades in local exhibitions, including “Best Painting in Show”, and was a finalist in the Devon Life Landscape Artist of the Year.
He enjoys the challenge of painting varied subjects, from landscapes to portraiture and semi abstract pieces inspired by the local moors and seascapes, which feature heavily in his work. Peter also takes inspiration from further afield on his travels.
His talent is expressed mainly in watercolours and acrylics, and he enjoys how varied these mediums are and decides which will best reflect what he wants to achieve. The effect of different brushstrokes and the use of a palette knife is often evident in his paintings, and the looseness of his work translates a mood or feeling. He relishes the challenge of working for weeks on a large oil painting as well as more instant results with smaller watercolours.
