Phil Creek

Phil Creek is a full-time painter living near Honiton in East Devon, having retired as County Art Adviser for Devon in 2011. His work explores the landscapes and seascapes of the southwest of England, Europe and the East Coast of America. Phil studied Fine Art Painting, receiving his Batchelor of Arts from Manchester University before undertaking post-graduate study at Birmingham University. Phil often paints en plein air, on the beach or in the landscape, and undertakes his acrylic, gouache and larger oil paintings in his studio. He enjoys experimenting with water-based materials using both brushes and other tools “found around the house”.

Exhibitions include The Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery in Exeter; The Royal Society of Marine Artists at The Mall Gallery, London; The Penwith, St. Ives, and The Royal West of England Academy, Bristol.  Phil is the chair of The South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts and continues as President of the Otter Vale Art Society (OVAS).
