TRAINING AND TECHNIQUE
The paintings in watercolour, oil and acrylic can be described simply as seascapes or landscapes some with buildings and people. This description may sound mundane, prosaic even, however the pictures are anything but. The artist's choice of subject, point of view and treatment is idiosyncratic. The finished works are highly detailed and realistic with a fine attention to detail. Tightly structured with a strong sense of design many of the paintings have a subtly implied narrative.
Andy Wood’s paintings are in numerous public and private collections including those of: The North Carolina Museum of History, Duke University, The Central Carolina Bank, The Chelsea Arts Club, Lyme Regis Museum and HM The Sultan of Oman, we are thrilled to exhibit his work in the Marine House Gallery
