About the artist:
Born and educated in London, Graham attended Goldsmiths College of Art in 1960. He has since worked as a freelance illustrator and specialised in teaching life drawing within adult education.
Since moving to Ireland, Graham has taken to painting full time, concerning himself mainly with the 'everyday' figure. Restaurants, markets, cafes, art galleries and musicians are his source of inspiration and his ability to sketch rapidly means he can capture figures in relaxed and natural poses, those intimate little moments which all of us see, but rarely have time to absorb. However, his paintings are completed in studio where he can work out the best composition for his recordings. His technique favours the freshness of that first impression one gets as one views a scene for the first time. "I hate overworking and altering a painting too much."
Graham has become ones of Ireland’s foremost figurative painters. His work has been exhibited at the prestigious Royal Hibernian Society and his work is collected widely by individuals, embassies and major corporations.
