Allister graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 1997 and was awarded a scholarship at Broadfield House Glass Museum where he started working as a professional glass blower, going on to win numerous national competitions and build up a loyal cliental offering commissions of unique works. He has become a renowned craftsman within his field; his sought-after work showcased in museum collections and galleries in the UK, Europe and the USA. He is continuously expanding upon his portfolio of hand-made, blown and contemporary glass artwork. His strong design sense combined with an impeccable standard of finish has created a dedicated collector base. He is also an inspiration to many aiming to live a Net Zero life, recently sharing publicly all his findings in establishing an all-electric production hot shop running on 100% renewables.
As a Trustee of the British Glass Foundation he played a pivotal part in the forming of the Stourbridge Glass Museum which opened in 2022 and in 2024 was awarded freedom of the City of London with the Worshipful Company of Glass Makers.
