Kit uses a variety of materials in his work, and we were enchanted by these stained and scorched oak pieces.
Originally trained as a furniture designer/maker, Kit now focusses mainly on sculpture.
Based by the coast in Dorset, his surroundings often inform his work, resulting in fluid shapes, which call to mind the way that waves can form the geography of the area. He has also been inspired by architects such as Frank Gehry, and landmarks such as Chesil Beach.
His exterior sculptures feature on parts of the Southwest Coast Path Sculpture Trail from Weymouth to Lyme Regis.
Using solid oak which is shaped to get the most from the grain, Kit then cuts and smooths each sculpture using burning and staining techniques to define each piece.
The spectacular pieces now on display at Steam Gallery are designed to be a standout in any design conscious interior.
