THE CHILTERNS
The essence of Sally Bassett’s work is its energy, vitality and colour.
Sally draws her inspiration from, meadows, fields, woods and mountains following the seasons of the year. There are crisp snow landscapes, fields of daffodils, bluebells, overgrown apple orchards, poppies or maybe whirling autumn leaves. Her art work commences with observational drawings, notes and gouache sketches which are collected in a small sketch book.
Sally lives and works in the small Chiltern village of Aldbury, but frequently visits the West Country and Cornwall where the energy and excitement of the sea keep her painting seascapes.
After a number of years teaching both in primary and secondary schools, Sally took time out to complete an honours degree in Fine Art.
